Game 6 - AFC Strikers (5) - LUYAA Currie (2)

The Strikers played a phenomenal home game on a day made for soccer! Jaik Scored 2 goals in the first half, Ryan had 2 goals in the 2nd half and Kelvin had a beautiful goal with one minute left in the game.  Micky had a great long range shot, just  over the cross bar. Kenny and Jaik shared goalkeeping duties. Kenny had some great second chance saves and Jaik had some tremendous punts to the other half. The strawberrys cam out for Abigail after she met the ground. Kristen had some very nice clearances that went to her team mates. Harrison was an anchor for the defense with James giving a good effort out there. I hope I didn't miss anybody. This was a very exciting match.

I overheard the other team during the hand shake at the end, a few said, "Is that all there team? They played like they had more there!" Great Work Strikers!

P.S. Coach Tadd will have to run more at practice because he "asked" the referee to make the call and not let the other team call offside for him. Bad Coach, Bad!

Game 5 - AFC Strikers (3) - CYA United (0)

The Strikers traveled North to drier weather in Thurmont to play against the CYA United. Jaik had his 3rd hat-trick of the season. Kenny, Katherine, Ryan and Jaik kept a shutout for the match. Kristen was on fire and played great defense. James played almost the complete 50 minutes and his Mom made the teams day with some great baked goods! Harrison was running all over and played tough even with his hurt knees. Micky had a great long range shot, just off the cross bar. We saw what I think was a record for bad throw ins, guess what we will practice! Kenny has the mark of the match with a little shiner to go with a great save.

The Strikers showed that they could string some passes together at a team and help out each other. It was very nice to watch.

GREAT JOB STRIKERS!! Keep it up. A Hat Trick and a Shut Out on the road is an excellent result.

Game 4 - AFC Strikers (1) - MAYAA Cyclones (6)

The Strikers suffered their first defeat of the season. Ryan scored the lone goal for the Strikers. I think that Katherine and Ryan were able to touch each goal that went in. That is a great effort in helping their team.

Hey Strikers! Hold them Heads Up. You played well against a very good team.

    2. A team can score a ‘touch-down’ (6 points) if they pass the ball to a team-mate standing in the end-zone.
      1. Extra Point = corner one touch
    3. Advance the game by not allowing any player to stand still in the end-zone, or then limit access to the zone to 3 seconds at a time for any player.

      1. Two teams in a line stand either side of the coach (standing on the half way line with all the balls).

      4. The coach is boss of the balls! Introduce penalty for encroaching!
      5. When a goal is scored or the ball goes out of play, the coach shouts ‘Get out of here!’ and the players have to go to the back of their line.
      6. As soon as the coach yells, he can put another ball on the field for the next two players from each team to play.
      7. The game is continuous till the coach has no balls left. He can then ask the players what they can do to rectify the situation…They will soon collect all the balls back!
